The last serious war that Americans played a decisive role in winning ran
from 1861 - 1865.

With the Russians accounting for 76% of German military deaths, I
suspect they might have something to say about who was most instrumental
in defeating the Germans.

I know that english is your second language, but you do need to learn
the difference between *A* decisive role as the Americans played in the
war against Germany, and *THE* decisive role as the Americans played in
the war against Japan.

Alvey said *A* decisive role, so he is wrong on both counts.

They may, but like the wars themselves, they'd lose.

Check out the Forces numbers for WW2 in Europe. Russia, helped by the
madness of Hitler and despite Stalin's pre-war carnage, would have beaten
Germany all by themselves. Alternatively, read some actual historians
rather than watching endless Hollywood propaganda.

No Darren, he has completed an apprenticeship, passed all requirements
and has trade experience *as a motor mechanic* and an auto electrician*.
All you have is fake claims to trade papers, fake claims of business
ownership and fake claims of membership to the VACC - all your claims
have been *proven* to be fake. You have nothing, you're a 100% fraud.

"Seriously"? Look Darren, it is *fact*, not opinion that you are a
monstrous liar, hypocrite and offensive little sociopath. That you expect
anyone even half normal to take *anything* you say "seriously" is just
another indication of how very distant you are from reality.

Indeed they did, but I would suggest that they also played the decisive
role in defeating the Nazi's as well.

The Russians fought alone against the Germans on the Eastern Front, but
it's interesting to note that even thought the Germans were hopelessly
outnumbered by the Soviets it still took the Russians 3 years to push
them back to Berlin. It's *also* interesting to note that the Russians
suffered more casualties in doing so than the Germans did in the entire
war from East to West and everything in Between.

I don't doubt for a second that had Germany not had a Western front to
contend with combined with a immensely destructive allied bombing
campaign that devastated their industrial ability to wage war they would
have overwhelmed the Russians regardless of how many unarmed peasant
farm boys the Russians may have stood up in front of the advancing Panzers.

On the other hand, I *also* have no doubt that had there not been an
Eastern Front leaving Germany to focus their entire war effort on
controlling Western Europe, They would have been decisively defeated at
the hands of a US lead Allied force and for the exact same reasons that
the Japanese were.

From the moment the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour and brought the
Americans into the war, an Allied victory was assured.

> Alvey said *A* decisive role, so he is wrong on both counts.

He usually is. Alvey is ignorant of a great many things and compensates
for that by simply making it up as he goes along.

He's not playing with a full deck, but then you don't need to take my

The exact number of Russian "military" casualties will never be known
due to the fairly unorganized state of their military resistance, but
I've seen figures quoted as being between two and four times the number
of Soviet military deaths on the Eastern Front as Germany suffered for
the entire war.

Either way, the one certainty is that the Russians paid a *far* heavier
human price in Victory than the Germans did in defeat.

but their contribution was more than significant. they keep Britain
supplied during the darkest days of the war, despite the Kriegsmarines
best efforts. they were a big part of the D-Day landings. the battle of
Coral Sea broke the back of the Imperial Japanese navy, and taking the
pacific Islands opened the gateway to Japan. and no less importantly the
USA's massive manufacturing capability meant resupply of equipment
losses was not a major issue. for example the enormous number of
Shermans they poured into the war effort.

I'm not so sure :)

Remember, it took the Russians a *long* time before they started to
drive the Germans back, and the bulk of that Russians success only came
after the Germans had started to suffer heavily at the hands of the
Allies in the West. It wasn't because the Russians had got better at
their game, but because the Germans had become increasingly hamstrung at
theirs.

The effect of the Allied air campaign over Germany during WWII simply
cannot be over stated. It was the "Second Front" that the Russians had
called for since Germany first invaded Russia, and it's effect on
Germany's ability to wage war in the East was staggering. Had it not
ever occurred the Russians would have suffered a *very* different fate
in my opinion.

> The British would not have had the resources to invade Europe on

Dieppe, and later "Market Garden" showed that the British were
outstandingly good at monumental military fuck ups :)

Had it just been the Germans against the Russians with the Germans not
having to contend with anyone else I believe the Russians would have
been crushed.

initially the Ruskies suffered many unnecessary military and civilian
losses because Stalin hesitated in committing to war with Germany,
simply because he didn't believe the initial reports of a German
invasion. He couldn't believe his 'friend' and ally Hitler would turn
against him. then there were several significant factors that resulted
in the German defeat, none the less being the Russian T-34 tank. Hitler
made so many blunders in Barbarossa, but one of the lesser spoken of is
his desire to use the Tiger tank he was so proud of, and he delayed some
of his military effort waiting for sufficient numbers to arrive. had he
not done so, and relied on his Panzers alone he would have fared better.
when Tigers were eventually used their weight often caused them to bog
down in soft ground. but the massive production of the T-34, which
Stalin was able to sustain at will after he moved production East, was
one of the most significant factors in the fight against Hitler.

Yep. Standard "pack mentality" operating procedure for these mental
midgets. None of them have the balls for independent thought, and they
need to hold each other's wieners for emotional support.

As I've said a number of times, they carry on like fucking ten year olds
in a tree house.

To a degree, but it wasn't just him. The German general staff have to
wear a lot of the blame.

I mean, have a look at Normandy. The Allies were able to get a decent
foothold on the beaches because Hitler was asleep, and everyone was too
scared to wake him up and ask for permission for a counter attack :)

You say many things many times Fraudster. Alas, frequency does not up their
veracity from zero.

Now, if you want to say something for the very first time, lets read the
substantiating proof for your Big Claims!

Like... Could you explain why the fabled NA of A is only registered from
1993-1996? And why its *business* address is your parents house in Altona?

Come along Fraudster. Stump up.

Except the Germans lost. The Russians were most wasteful and reckless as

German military deaths had a huge impact on the outcome of the war.

How many Taliban do you reckon will kill themselves trying to fly them?
Or will they swap them to get the 12 billion odd dollars of Afghan funds
that the US is holding?

Lol!

One of the problems with being a micro pedant keith is that you leave
yourself open to revenge attacks, which then leads to all out war. These
serve no purpose.

See, the original 'quote' by Jesus at the stoning was (paraphrased), "let
he who is without sin cast the first stone". It was *not*, "let he who
hasn't committed adultery cast the first stone".

So you "slavishly agreeing" with anyone was *not* the sin(s) I was
suggesting. You got it wrong.

The RAAF and RNZAF have taken off again, en-route to Kabul. RNZAF C130
Hercules ALBO5 has just landed in Kabul, RAAF C-130 Hercules MAMBO30 is
about 1 hour 30 mins behind. Lots of USAF C-17 Globemasters in the air,
and on the ground. Been the most busy day at Kabul so far. Just heard on
7 news that the US has done some sort of deal to allow more people
access to the airport. God speed to all.

Projection writ large. The evidence proves otherwise. Your only
non-enemies are those that never disagree, challenge or call you out on
your bullshit or challenge your "authority".

The minute they do they become the enemy.

They have all been disabled before abandonment as well as all other
mobile equipment.

Short answer, no, in terms of the aircraft.

Again, no. Any planes would need to be transported to another country
where such facilities exist. Such facilities no longer exist in
Afghanistan. Even then, spares to make them serviceable would be
embargoed by the US so, nor repair.

I doubt it, which is probably why the Yanks left them behind. If it was

You're kidding, right? I would imagine only a very small percentage of
them can drive. Most of them ride Donkeys.

The Taliban would struggle to find 4 people amongst it's "fighters" who
can pull the pin on a grenade without killing themselves.

They have been *disabled* before they were abandoned. It might be more
than getting a few new parts depending on how the disablement was
carried out.

You're not kidding! You *are* that naive! How unsurprising.

A lot of Afghans have way more education than you were ever capable of
achieving! You couldn't even complete year 9 FFS.

Unfortunately, the seeds for this were sown twenty years ago, when
corruption was allowed to take root. There were lessons about that
should have been learned from Vietnam, but which weren't.

You need to be careful which media sources you watch.

I keep my media sources very broad spectrum, a necessary thing when
clowns like Murdoch control far too much of western media sources.

Yes but not the more high tech US stuff. That was stripped of high tech
equipment, then disabled. The Afghan stuff was relatively low tech, even
the Blackhawks they were given were stripped down somewhat.

That will only take you so far. Some critical parts will not be available.

To a certain extent, there won't be any top guns among them, and if they
do start annoying, US drones can certainly take them out any time.

How many Blackhawk technicians do you think that they have?

The Taliban are going to have enough trouble trying to run a country. By
the time that they have that sorted, most of the sophisticated equipment
will have degenerated beyond usefulness.

At the end of the Vietnam war, the North Vietnamese inherited the 5th
biggest airforce in the world. What did they do with it? bugger all, and
they were a lot more sophisticated than the Taliban.

It goes way back, the yanks supported the Mujahedin because they were
fighting the Russians. Partly because of their stupid belief that "Mine
enemys enemy is my friend" ignoring of course that your enemys enemy may
hate you as much as him, and partly to pay the Russians back for
supporting the North Vietnamese.

That brought Bin Lardin to prominence and we all know how that went.
George Bush went into Afghanistan to root out Bin Lardin and co, did
half a job, riled up the locals and pissed off to invade Iraq, thus
creating ISIS, and starting a civil war in Afghanistan. The Taliban knew
that the yanks would eventually get fed up with the fight and go home,
and voila we have the mess that eventuated.

They certainly will have. Military equipment isn't like commercial
equipment. What's more, the Taliban are *broke*. They were expecting to
get hold of the Afghanistan central bank's money. Sorry, that's held in
the US and, guess what, they aren't getting it any time soon.

Winning a war is but half the battle, winning the peace will be much
harder. Most of the people who would be useful to the Taliban are
currently in the process of *fleeing* the Taliban.

That might have been one left to the Afghan Airforce. It wouldn't have
been disabled, just stripped of *sensitive equipment*. Personally, I
wonder why the Afghan airforce pilots just didn't take off with the
blackhawk and any other *useful* hardware.

There was never any other option.

It wouldn't have mattered how long the Americans were there or how good
or bad they were, the locals were *always* going to hate them and run
the place how they wanted to whenever they left.

Being there was the ultimate exercise in futility.

Indeed.

The biggest threat the Taliban posses to anyone is to their own local
population. Outside of that, they're fucking hopeless.
