you can buy centreless steel rims in almost any size, and in many
cases you can match them to existing centres.
I'm not sure of the legality of what you want to do, merely pointing
out the options. I've always done my own but I'd imagine any
reputable wheel and rim works would do the job for you (look up wheel
& rim in the Yellow Pages).

According to the book, there were 6x15 in both the normal 4stud/108PCD
and the 4stud/140PCD stud patterns used on Pugs. The 108PCD ran a few
different offsets, but there were 15s in each.
If you really need to change the rims, the centres are okay as long as
they are a disc centre welded to a separate rim rather than like the
Pontiac GTO and some Corvette rims that had the centre and outer bead
as one pressing and the inner bead as a separate welded section.
The 6JJx15 rim would need to be an extra-deep drop centre to suit the
diameter of your centres. The welds joining the original centres to
the rim are turned off, then the new rims welded on. Provided that
they are welded properly and that they are aligned right, they'd be
fine.

Where would I go to look for such rims ??? I'm in Brisbane, and looking for
17" rims - for $600 I'm keen, but as the other poster pointed out, dealers
have been spitting out the BBS / Simmons options which would be worth more
than the car (not really but I couldn't justify the $3000 ...). To email
you, do I just rmve the (nospam) ????
