I can picture Anna Bligh, sink plunger in one hand, egg beater in the other
spinning around and around in her office chair going,
DE-SAL-IN-ATE... DE-SAL-IN-ATE

I don't take sides.
It's more fun to insult everyone.

It happened in Tasmania where the feds fucked up the Franklin which would
have made money in hydro electricity for Tasmania
Now the feds are fucking up Queensland with the Mary river dam
The Mary river floods every year and serious floods about every three or
four years
Put that water to use instead of letting it flow away through houses and
farms costing millions in damage
If a dam is built, I am sure that their precious fish and turtle will not
drown because of all that extra water

I know some people who are a little peeved about the Dam not going ahead
their land was bought by the Govt and then rented back to them for
ridiculously low rent until the dam was completed
so they got a shit load of money and still got to farm the land for
another 10-15 years
now they will need to buy it back if they want to continue

But the people who were not affected by the dam in anyway are happy, and
that's the important thing isn't it

After paying out a shitload in capital gains tax, the majority of 'em
probably put what was left into managed investment funds of some
description prior to the financial crash. So now they can't afford to
buy it back since Govco isn't prepared to sell for less than they paid
for it.

Looks like Govco will own it for a long time yet.
