When looking at GT Falcons of this era, treat *everything* as fake unless
proven otherwise. Genuine items are very scarce these days and the number of
legit cars with non-original parts is staggering.

Most probably.
It was quite a popular mod in the days of the phase III GTHO for anyone with
a regular GT to fit a boot spoiler to give their cars a more aggressive
look. The "GTHO" sticker on the glovebox door was also a pretty common
"extra"

Very true.
It was very common to add front and rear spoilers and HO badge was
almost mandatory even though genuine HO's are very rare.
My mate reckoned that the spoilers actually worked at speeds over 100mph
and he tested his very regularly.
Unfortunatley his GT was written off in Warnambool when some idiot went
through a stop sign and T boned him.
