Needless to say, I agree with most of what was written. We live barefooted
at home, and only wear thongs or DVs outside.

I love walking around with bare feet. As the article says, it is very
sensual. However, I find it is impractical in many circumstances, such
as:
* walking on bitumen baked by many hours of a summer's sun;
* walking on snow;
* walking in filthy areas (e.g. I'd feel very unsafe where needles or
vomit is around);
* keeping up with someone who is wearing shoes;
* walking on sharp stones (e.g. the road outside my house was recently
given a new layer of stones & they are still sharp & unpleasant to walk
on).
When I do go out in my bare feet I notice that I keep a close look at
where my feet actually land, rather than where the path generally runs.
