Thanks

go and talk to an aeronautical engineer.
Graham Swannell's Aeronautical Engineers Australia would be a good
start.
putting the engine in is not the difficult bit. making sure the
airframe can handle it in the long term is the hard bit.

I would suggest that for any 'real' information you ask one of the people who
fly victas and have already been through the path of engine conversion
If you have a look at:
http://www.airtourer.asn.au/contact.htm
or http://www.airtourer.asn.au/index.htm
you will find contact information to the Airtourer Association
This group of people actually have a vast collection of technical information
and expertise
They are friendly, and are approachable
my father belongs to this group and I have known them for a number of years....
hope this helps

be sure to ask what the expected fatigue life is of the mods.

Datum point: I took the demo model of the VAT150 for a circuit at Gunnedah
when they were touring the country with it. An absolute delight to fly -
man, did it get up and go! - and I'd done my basic training in the 115. It
had a CS prop and became my joint favourite a/c (the other is a 250
Comanche). Years later at Rocky I flew a VAT that had been converted to
150 hp with a fixed pitch prop. It was an absolute dog - wouldn't climb
and wouldn't cruise - and never did find out why it was so sad even though
we spent a fair bit of time on it <shrug>
There's a 115 for sale at Rocky at the moment at the right price - unless,
like me, you're stuck with a mortgage :-(
Assuming you mean contact details for the a/c rather than me - "bugger".
It isn't in today's local paper (tho' it's been there for weeks) so you'll
have to wait 'til tomorrow after I've contacted my spies at the aerodrome.
(Aerodrome spies don't like being phoned at 11 pm..........)
In the meantime it was $37k with a newish paint job, pretty good hours to
run on engine and prop and a bit over 8,000 TT on the airframe - I haven't
seen it- just foned a LAME spy some time ago for details. Understand it's
been inland for most of its life so corrosion shouldn't be a problem.
If I'd bought it I'd already decided the *first* thing I'd do would be to
rip those bloody great DCA-arse-covering springs off the ailerons :-)
Ok, it's still for sale and it's got new Perspex, too! Registration is
VH-MVF The owner's a 75 year old by the name of A.U.S. Huttley of
Yeppoon - seems a nice bloke, ex airforce having joined in 1948 and knows
the mob I started with in Tamworth in the mid 60s.. His email is
aushu...@cyberoz.com.au - remove the obvious of course.
He's also got a 1978 C172 for sale - VH-TDH - but don't know any other
details except it's undergoing maintenance at the moment.
