This month's (September) Aus. Aviation mag states in the "traffic" section
that SIA now "supplements its "five" weekly A310 service into Adelaide with
twice weekly A340-300E flights". A picture of an A340 at Adelaide is
included. I was unaware that SIA had changed from its thrice weekly A310
schedule. The picture would seem to suggest that the article is right,
however, in an effort to confirm it, I checked the SIA website schedules,
and it does indeed state that there are only 3 A310 services per week. Does
anyone know what the real story is here?

I believe AA printed incorrect info. SQ operate a three times a week
svc thru' ADL with A310s - SQ229/230 Wed, Fri and Sun. As you have
noted their website says so too. The A340s are substituted on an as
needed basis when the extra capacity is required. According to SQ this
happens a few times a year. I think the A340 would have been
photographed on such an occassion. (Last one I saw was 12 April but
probably there has been another since). *Surprisingly* AA also
incorrectely published in the August issue that MH are operating a
twice weekly B742F svc thru' ADL. Its only once a week - MH6201/2 on
Wed.

Also AA incorrectly identified the TGA300-600 as an A310 (the
Star Alliance livery) !

I wish Alexander Graham Bell would invent the telephone then you could just
ring SIA up and ask them.
