What are other pilots currently paying for AVGAS? If enough pilots post
to this thread we can get an idea of the best places to buy fuel.:-)
Gordon
Ceduna SA was $0.87 about a week ago (BP)
Port Lincoln SA is currently $0.83 (mobil)

I recall once at MB when filling with AVGAS I noticed the price of $1.00/
l. When I asked about the high price, I was told that the numbers of the
boweser showing the price were larger in size than the ones showing the
volume of fuel delivered. Thereby setting the pump to $1.00/l the amount of
fuel pumped into an aircraft could be read at distance. I was not charged $
1.00/l

there are a number of such outlets that have the machine set at a dollar
per litre because the display for the dollars is larger than the one for
the litres and if it is set at a dollar a litre you can read the display
when doing the far wing...
This is the case at Mildura - the bowser says $1/lt but the price is
never that - usually here around 84-85cpl.
cheers
Gordon,
Did you pay $1.00 per litre or was this the price shown on the bowser
which is probably a generic price for cash purchasers such as race car
drivers etc. Check your invoice!
I am sure carnet card holders pay around 80 cents per litre. There has
been a small increase over the last few months.
We would be interested to know the true facts when they are at hand.

a neat idea, two white decals over the $ c marks and it'd work sweet.
the only country bowser I pumped from regularly had no marks at all, you
just filled her up after putting the key in the appropriate users switch.
had the double benefit of not worrying you about cost and forcing you to
dip your tanks properly.
'course 18c used to fill my little 70cc honda those days. (1/2 gal tank)

The Fuel Companies, that's who. To purchase 100 octane 'racing fuel'
(probably time expired avgas in any case) from 'specialist' garages
will cost anywhere between $0.95 to $1.30 per litre. Don't bung all
the blame on airport refullers.
Peter Whellum
Of course you can't expect to go to an airport and automatically expect
to be able to buy Avgas at all as sales at these locations are supposed
to be "into aircraft" only. Any refueller who provides it for other
reasons is risking trouble.
