I have only used it twice since I got it, a total of about 45 minutes. It has amazing power and torque. It is a little heavier feeling than I thought it would be, but I will get used to it soon. It is solid feeling and the case is well made. Has very little runout on the chuck and drills smoothly. I would purchase it again.
The drill has alot of power and works great for hammerdrilling. The V18 Lithium Ion batteries are a substantial improvement over the old NiCads. You won't be disappointed by this drill. The only downside is that they are no longer made in the US.
As a CATV installer, I've been using cordless drills for years and this is the best drill I've owned so far. The battery life is great and has plenty of power. I'm doing a project now rewiring an apartment complex and I have yet to drain a battery in one day. I recommend this drill very highly for anyone in the CATV/Tele industry.
After 20 years I found that I needed to replace my heavily used Panasonic 12V Drill. I looked around at several models including Panasonic's latest offering. I decide on the Milwaukee for a couple of reasons, the first is I have several of their tool (albeit the older versions) and they just last. I am a big advocate of tools that do what they are intended to do without a lot of superfluous items added to them (Makita's light for example). This drill has it. It is a monster with an impressive amount of power. The power lasts right up to the last second with our any decrease in torque or speed. It was a little surprising when the battery became fully discharged...It just stops dead. I though I broke it, but after another full charge, it runs like a champ. I ran the second battery from new fresh charge to empty just to see what it it had in it. 53 1 1/2" holes with a forstner bit through a 2x6 is what I got. I understand that may get better with subsequent charges (I am happy with it now so anything extra is gravy).
Lots of power, battery lasts a long time. I use it mostly for setting concrete anchors using the hammer drill and driving screws. Works great, fast charger. Well worth the money.
You get the power and durability of Lithium-Ion technology in this durable hammer driver/drill, along with the heavy-duty quality you expect from Milwaukee tools, like a high-power motor, metal chuck and more.
Sporting the longest running 18-volt hammer-drill on the market, Milwaukee’s V18 Lithium-Ion cordless kit ensures that this tool is always on hand for drilling and driving jobs large and small. A patented reversible battery lets the drill fit in tight areas and optimizes balance for working overhead. And, if you already have one of Milwaukee’s 18-volt Ni-Cad tools, you’re in luck. The lithium-ion batteries in this kit fit select 18-volt tools, too! The kit’s charger also powers up those 18- to 28-volt Ni-Cad batteries in under an hour! Plus, the lithium-ion battery provides up to 50 percent longer runtime than comparable Ni-Cad tools while at the same time offering consistent power from the first hole drilled to the last. Designed to easily complete those extended decking, fencing, and framing jobs, the tool drills up to twenty-five 2-9/16-inch bit holes per charge. A high output motor provides 550 inch-pounds of torque for driving large bolts and drilling spade bits into hardwood. The unit’s metal ratcheting chuck and carbide jaws grip bits tightly so there’s no slippage mid-job. And, a comfortable non-slip, soft-grip reduces vibration and fatigue. Serious about reliability, Milwaukee backs the battery pack with a 2000-charge warranty. The batteries are 24 percent lighter than 18-volt Ni-Cad’s, too, offering 18-volt power with the same weight as a tool equipped with a 14.4-volt battery. A battery fuel gauge displays remaining run-time for peace of mind. And, the tool switches easily between drill, drive, and hammer modes for less downtime --Brian Olson What’s in the BoxTwo 18-volt batteries, 18- to 28-volt universal charger, carrying case, side handle, No. 2 Phillips bit
