Hello, Is anyone out there familiar with the education required to
become a commercial airline pilot? What course would I need to take at
uni. I'm in Melbourne.

Thankyou

What level are you at now? You will need HSC maths, physics and english.
After that, contrary to popular opinion, almost any degree will do. There
are Science Aviation degrees (RMIT and Swinburne both have them), but they
don't put you any further up the totem pole than anything else, although I
guess they qualify as a straightforward way of getting the book knowledge
needed. I generally suggest that people gain a degree that is capable of
putting food on the table (outside of aviation). It's a very fickle
industry.

What you do need to do, at some point, is actually learn to fly, and then
get some hours. That's the hard bit, as no one else will pay for that part
of the training (other than the RAAF).
