Qantas now have seats available to book on the A380 and a lot more info.
I'm looking at making a trip soonish so this is of particular interest to
me. The new premium economy seems to be the way to go? The price is about
double that of economy ($4k versus $2k, on average), but offers a 19.5" seat
width - very decent. Apparently economy seats on the Qantas 747s are only
17.25" wide, so these premium seats are actually closer in width to business
class than they are to economy, but with a price tag that's much closer to
economy! Qantas also mention that the seats recline "9 inches" but don't
actually specify the angle, nor the seat pitch. Does anyone know where this
information could be found? The 747s are supposed to have a 6-degree seat
recline and 32" pitch - how would the new premium compare to this? Also, do
the standard economy seats on the A380 retain the 17.25" seat width or are
they wider? I'm loving the fact that each seat comes with 110V power and
wi-fi internet access - will this be free? =)

Does anyone know why Jetstar, a supposedly low cost airline, has *leather*
seats and 18" seat width, which is superior to Qantas? Makes no sense ...

Dunno who was doing all the spitting and spewing on Concorde, then. BA had
all pale blue leather but it sure wasn't low cost.... Still got a leather
compendium (given to every passenger) in its original sealed plastic from
that flight <smirk>

Read my post - this doesn't answer any of my questions (and I actually
stated a lot of this information in my post). Interesting that there only
seems to be one fixed 'drink/snack' table per 2 seats. I can see a lot of
potential conflict over this...

Using the old 1 in 60 (my calculator has died of old age) I reckon it'd be
about 10 degrees.
