I recently purchased a Panasonic NV-600 head hifi vcr in Australia. I am
happy with the machine except for one feature. When I make a copy of an NTSC
tape recording from my Sony HiFi vcr on to the Panasonic the copy has a
definite green look to the tape when viewed on the TV.
The Panasonic features both 4.43 and 3.58 NTSC playback and record so I am
stumped as to why the tapes would come out like this?
Thanks for any information in advance
Andrew
make sure the sony isn;t trying to output a pal 60 signal. theres a switch on
the back [of my slv-x835] to select the PB TV as a pal or ntsc, use ntsc. and
also make sure the pana is selected as ntsc record.

no worries :) thought that might have been the problem.
yep pal conversion works, but i don't really need to use it. my psx is
already pal60 and my dvd has pal50 output :) but i know it works when i
switched the dvd to ntsc. maybe if/when i get a ntsc ps2 i'll use it :P

Huh? Domestic VCR's don't do format conversions....period.
Ivan
ivan, the panasonic nv-fj600 can convert ntsc av inputs to pal60, as well as
ntsc tape playback in pal60.

There is no true NTSC 3.58/60Hz to PAL/I/B/G(4.43Mhz) 50Hz conversion
available in any domestic VCR. It's much more complicated than that.
I'm assuming what you guys are on about though, is viewing NTSC on PAL TV
and not transcribing tapes from one system to another?
