In case people haven't seen the announcement, Jordan has announced
the FreeBSD 4.0 release - it's currently on the main FreeBSD archive
and is being updated on mirror sites around the world.

The distribution is available on mirror.aarnet.edu.au aka
ftp.au.freebsd.org in australia at:

ftp://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/4.0-RELEASE/

http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/4.0-RELEASE/

rsync://mirror.aarnet.edu.au::freebsd/releases/i386/4.0-RELEASE/

The 4.0 release packages will be updated within 24 hours as there is
considerably more data to download.

I'm currently waiting for the iso images to be created - this will
probably happen and be updated sometime in the next fortnight.

You can find out more about the FreeBSD project by having a look at

http://freebsd.mirror.aarnet.edu.au

and you can support the project by ordering the complete CD set from

http://www.cdrom.com

cheers,

-jason
