Yours should be a simple matter of having the Lamp replaced - see the
authorised repairer.

i was quoted similar prices a cpl of months ago for screen repairs,
from the 'authorized repairers' for a pc i was thinking of buying...
spoke to a cpl of smaller laptop repair places since who say that a
lot of screen repairs can be done a lot cheaper and more easily.

shop around, i reckon
