Just in case your interested and didn't see post on facebook.

Tom, well you were right again. after more highway driving, I have to agree that .63 gear in the T-5 is too tall. after some searching there are few options. There is a .80 gear available on E bay that has some quality issues, but MDL (modern drive line) has a .73 gear for $350 that would be pretty easy to install. They also sell a T-5 with the gear installed for $2500. Maybe I'll get one for my birthday. Will post pictures of install when that happens.

Hello Sascha -

Right, I seem to recall my original T5 had .72 fifth and was ideal. My newer “WC”(World Class) T5 was rated for more hp, but came with a .68. So in fifth gear she ticked over about once every lamp post. I never even thought to ask if it would be different ratio from the original. The new owner, Ulf Mettler, is enjoying old #110 as I did back in 2004.

A lot depends on diff ratio also , although Mark 2 manual says it a Jag 3:08 mine in #78 is a 3:31 with the limited slip T5 has a 2:95 1st which is about as low as you want to go
