Hello, I have a 1981 GRX cobra. I am wanting to replace the bushings on the front and the rearA  arms
Are the suspension arms a Mustang ll Series of that year? When I look at the A arms on the front they have the bracket that the shock attached to and is a welded bracket. When  looking at the bracket for that year it appears to be a bit different.

I am going to take the brackets off, replace the bushings and have them powder coated to give a cleaner look under the car.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Glenn, the electrical wiring diagram is on the original Aurora user's manual (chap 4 for GRX).

Hi Richard, I need to do the same operation on my GRX. I would really appreciate to get the reference of the bushings you used, or alternatively the dimensions needed.

Bushing replacement - I learned from several shops the old bushings need to be forced out on the bench, best with a hydraulic press. I cannot endorse polyurethane replacements as the material is much harder than rubber and makes for a harsh and noisy ride. The originals have a steel inner sleeve. Locating suspension arm bushings with dimensions which match the original may require some cutting and pressing with hydraulic tools. This replacements were completed on my Aurora by a very good NZ mechanic on the week I sold the car last year. The mechanic had sources for replacement bushings with sleeves.

That’s been my experience.

Hi Eifel,

I do not have the manual. Is it available somewhere?
Thanks, Glenn

Have you or anyone else else been able to source these bushing for a reasonable price. I have found them (Desoto) , but not at all affordable.
Thanks..
Oh... and on the electrical end. I can share the files with you if you wish as I have them scanned.
I believe the manual is available online otherwise
