gas tank removal

Does the gas tank come out thru the car interior(forward) after removing the trunk bulkhead & the one in the car interior to get at the hold down bolts? Thanks for any help on the matter. Al

You are correct in getting to the tie down via the bulk head.

The next step is to remove the bulk head on the trunk side as the gas tank comes out through via the trunk. At least that is what I had to do.

I had to remove the gas tank as the pick up tube was not functioning properly.

But in order to do get the gas tank out I had to cut back a few tabs in the trunk area to give the tank room to slide out.

It seemed to me that everything was in place then the body was lowered over the frame.

Hope this helps.

Once the tank is out, I would look at the tranny mounting bushes.

The procedure is explained in the GRX manual in chapter 6.1. You need to remove the seats first … the bulkhead and yes it will come out forward.

I wish that was the case for me. The tubing of the frame did not allow clearance.
