Edge label limits?

Given Titan 0.5.1 and a Cassandra back-end, are there limits on either the number of edge labels?

The web page http://s3.thinkaurelius.com/docs/titan/0.5.1/limitations.html doesn't mention limits on counts.

I remember vaguely that a label is implemented as a special property. Each edge would have one label but you could have many labels to label different types of edges. However these labels are 'permanent' since you couldn't actually remove it from TITAN as of now.

Thank you Xiaoyu, that's helpful.

I'm looking for the limits. For example, is it reasonable to have 100,000,000 different edge labels defined? (or property names for that matter?) If not, is there a number that does make sense?

For example, if you index a low selectivity property (e.g. person title such as Mr. Mrs., Dr, etc.) than it appears that Titan + Cassandra will reach a limit at 2 billion, as that is the ~max # number of columns in a Cassandra column family.

Alex - did you ever find an answer to your question. I'm trying to decide on using Titan and I have concerns about the number of different edge labels (and the number of vertex attributes) that I'm considering. I've not yet found any resources to help me answer the question.

Thanks

Tom
