Smart mamas,

So, for the past few months I've been working on a startup called Cricket's Circle, which chooses the best baby products for new parents by combining editor picks with friends’ recommendations into one master (shoppable!) list. The idea is to replace all those spreadsheets and fwded emails that we received from our mom-friends and acquaintances!

In about 2-3 weeks, I'll invite you (and ask you to spread the word!), but first, I need help finishing the content! Our team doesn't have any favorite products in these categories— do you? Reply with a product name, link and what you like/dislike about it.

Give me your two cents on...
— Bassinet or Moses basket
— Co-sleeper
— Nightlight
— Baby Monitor
— Baby food maker / food processor
— Bottle warmer
— Bottle sterilizer

* ALSO What baby/mom sites do you read? Style blogs, BabyCenter, etc. all apply!

Your advice so much appreciated! Best, Sophie

PS
We're going to need help! We'll be hiring (f/t, p/t and freelance), doing partnerships (do you work w/ a mom or baby brand?), and recruiting our "inner circle" of moms to research and judge products. I'll be coming to you first!

Hi Sophie,

I love this idea! Definitely interested in helping any way I can.

The one product listed I can definitely recommend was my Co-Sleeper. We had the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and it was amazing from Day 1. I loved having Delfina right next to me (literally "arm's reach") during the nights and easily being able to bring her to me for nighttime feedings while we were dozing. I could even sleep with one arm lightly laid across her swaddled tummy while I was sleeping - a favorite position. We also used it around the house, as it is light and very easy to wheel around. We would often have dinner with Delfina laying and squirming about next to us in her Co-Sleeper.

Let me know if you need more feedback info!

xo

Oh, as for mom sites:

SafeMama - for checking eco info on products, practices

Diapers.com - I literally live on this site. they can ship most things overnight and have lots of reviews (it's also tied to Amazon - full disclosure - and loops some of their reviews where possible)

Quality Rivets blog - sometimes great family related posts by this mama: http://qualityrivets.blogspot.ca/search/label/family

Simone S. Oliver - follow her on Instagram. she has some HOT mama style - very inspiring! (since I lived in leggings and long tees lol)

BabyCenter - a go to one stop shop for sure. also had the MyBaby app, which is fun to read daily for little tips and tidbits.

Pinterest - i'm an avid fan. have a baby related board and get tons of inspiration and tips from searches on the site.

** Speaking of the BabyCenter App, my fave app for sure was/is Total Baby. Track EVERYTHING - so great for the new mama.

Hi Sophie:

What a great idea for a business! Very exciting. I can't tell you how many people I've forwarded lists to (always having to edit and refine product links, etc).

Here are a things we used:

— Bassinet or Moses basket
The thing I've recommend to all my new mom friends that has been a consistent hit is this pillow bed. It is truly wonderful for newborns:
http://www.snugglemeorganic.com/What-Is-A-Snuggle-Me-.html
It is easy to transport around the house for naps. We used it in our bed at night. It's completely organic.
— Co-sleeper
We also used arms reach co-sleeper. I thought it was OK, not great. It's definitely a good price. The height wasn't adjustable and never quite attached to our mattress which made the "co-sleeping" a bit difficult.
— Nightlight
I love ours, but having trouble finding the link. Will send it soon...
— Baby Monitor
Good luck and please keep us posted!! Send any job info our way too - I may know a few people looking.

All the best,
Hannah

Hi Sophie,

Very exciting!!!
The video monitor we have (and I think a lot of people use this one) is this one from Motorola.
https://m.buybuybaby.com/buybuybaby/product/detail.do?itemId=18533634

The food processor was the Baby Breeza One Step Food Maker. It easy because it steams and purées in one bowl.

Good luck with the launch!!

Hi-

I would love to be a part of this!  Let me know how I can be involved in the "inner circle".

It is good but honestly just mostly pulled her next to me!  I LOVE that snuggle me.  Wish I had heard of that a year ago.

For monitor.  We just use a camera that shows the video through the computer.  You can also set it up so you can see the video on your phone.  My friends are fascinated.  It takes a bit of computer expertise to do it though.  But it is easy to set up on your computer.

Good luck and keep in touch about updates and job openings.  Thanks!
Kyla

I also think its a great idea!

I haven't used most of the products you listed. The only one I'd
recommend is the Baby Monitor. We use the Summer Infant Baby Touch
Digital Color Video Monitor. It came highly recommended to us by our
friends and has great reviews on Amazon.
