Tom Ewert passed away

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of the passing of Tom Ewert this morning doing what he loved... birding. Yesterday, he posted a photo of Jocotoco antpitta from Tapichalaca Reserve in Equador on his facebook page. This rare bird has a tiny range, and it was one of the birds Tom had most hoped to see. He was still in the mountains of Equador when he died. 

Pete Janzen just called me to let me know. 

Tom will be greatly missed.
