Dear all,

In case you're around Paris, France, for DAFx11 (September 2011), you're invited to attend this Satellite Workshop titled "From ASA to CASA, what does the "C" stand for anyway? " - http://anasynth.ircam.fr/home/blogs/lagrange/casa-workshop-dafx.

The official DAFx11 webpage can be found here: http://dafx11.ircam.fr/wordpress/

Looking forward to meet you there.

Apologies for any cross postings.

Dear all,

Following my previous email where I announced a Workshop on the topics of ASA and CASA that Mathieu Lagrange and myself organized during the last edition of DAFx (which took place at IRCAM, Paris, France, a couple of weeks ago), I'm pleased to invite you to watch the videos of the talks and subsequent discussions in the link below:

As planed, we had fours speakers presenting their works in this workshop:

- Trevor Agus (Perceptual learning of novel sounds)

- Josh McDermott (Sound texture perception via statistics of the auditory periphery)

- Jon Barker (Probabilistic frameworks for Scene understanding)

- Boris Defreville (Machine listening in everyday life)

Overall, the workshop went quite well, and was highly participated.

Since I'm involved in the organization of ISMIR2012, which will take place in Porto, Portugal around October next year, we're planning on organizing a follow-up workshop on the topic of ASA, CASA and Computational Audition in general, so I'll keep you posted about this project (and please let me know in case of any suggestions, comments, etc).

Sorry for any cross-postings and thank you for your attention.

Cheers from Porto,

Gustavo
