Hi I have recently purchased Dayton Imm-6 calibrated mic and iAudiotools
Running on a Ipad mini IOS7.

For the life of me can not find AudioTools directory on Ipad to place Imm-6 calibration file.

Could someone please assist with detailed instructions.

Thanks

Ron

Hi,

There is no support for iMM-6 cal files in the IOS version of AudioTool: this is only available for Android AudioTool. I'm sorry if there has been a misunderstanding.

iAudioTool supports 1 octave calibration.

It would be nice if this was made clear, good thing I only spent $2 to find this out the hard way.

The iAudioTool description explicitly says that the calibration method is one octave, and makes no mention of 1/3 octave calibration, or loading cal files.

"Includes ISO Octave Calibration feature - corrects for your device's microphone response. Also includes wideband calibration. The calibration discs are moved up or down so as to obtain a flat response, and match the overall SPL to that of an external meter."

I'm not sure how much more clear this could be?

Sorry I don't follow you, so I guess it isn't clear to me...can one upload the calibration file for the Dayton iMM-6 on an IOS device.  If not where does it say this is or isn't supported?

There are two implementations of AudioTool:

1) Android AudioTool - this supports 1/3 octave calibration, and loading e.g. iMM-6 calibration files

2) iOS iAudioTool - this only supports 1 octave calibration, no loading of calibration files

The iOS iAudioTool for iPad/iPhone is not as well developed as the Android tool - this is simply because the vast majority of my customers use the Android version, and they tend to be the ones asking for new features (such as 1/3 octave calibration!) and updates. I rarely get any feedback from iAudioTool users (the installed base is *much* smaller).

Again, I'm sorry if this isn't clear, and welcome suggestions on how it could be made clearer.

Any chance of possibly adding 1/3 calibration to iOS? Or at least import of 1/3 calibration data?

I too did not realize iOS was not as far along as Android.
Thanks,
-Phil

This is certainly on my list of intended features for the iOS version, which lags the Android version. Android is where I focus my efforts as that is the much larger customer base ;-)

Yes I would really like to see this come to iPhone. Should be able to easily set something up where you can use Dropbox or similar to easily navigate to a saved cal file.

I have an android phone and ipad; blindly bought the iOS version second only to find out it neither supports mic calibration nor audio max level hold (to record a sweep) I am fine with giving you money it's a good tool but it was annoying because plan to use the ipad's larger screen failed :(

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The iOS version of AudioTool is based on v5.6 of Android AudioTool (which is now on 7.2) so lacks the more recent features.
