hey,
just bought your app and a imm-6, right now im testing the mic with some frequency generators, but i guess there is something like auto gain or so in the background, because, for example, if i play 1500hz sine wave, i can clearly see it, and then it drops like -20db after a sec, everytime.
is this intended or just a bad android feature?
greetings

That sounds odd. What type of phone are you using? When you say it drops, does it do so shortly after the sine wave starts playing? Or shortly after you start AudioTool? How loud is the sine wave?

Xiaomi Redmi 4x.
I guess its a Android Thing because every other Audio Spectrum App does it the same way.
Yea, im playing a sine and after playing for a sec it drops to the lower db.
I dont know how loud my sine is, but im playing it from my laptop at a 'middle' Volume.
For example it starts at 70db with 1500hz and then it drops to 55db. But All the Levels are going down thats why i think its something like a autogain feature. I could test it on my second Android device.

Yes, that sounds like AGC ... AudioTool uses a mic channel that is supposed to be free of all filters and AGC, so if the manufacturer's Android implementation on the device is good, then you shouldn't see any filter or AGC. However, it looks like on the Xiaomi this is not the case, and the AGC is still being applied. I wonder if there is a setting somewhere on the phone that allows you to defeat it manually?

Just checked it.
Its definitely something like AGC.
My Tablet isnt doing the same thing. If i play a 1000hz sine with 70dB it stays at 70dB, if i start playing the same with my phone, it will go down to 58dB after a sec.
i dont know if i can disable it, but i'll ask in the xiaomi forums, maybe there is a solution/custom rom for it.
