I would first like to say I love the app.  The layout is nice and it is very powerful for what it is.

What I am trying to do is to see the affects of adding a combination of different sound absorbers and blockers in the doors, behind the trim and under carpet, etc...in my car.

I want to take LaEQ readings for this, but most apps only do an averaged wideband SPL readings.  When I found your app, I was ecstatic to see that you did the readings in one octave bands.

I would like to make a formal request to up the resolution to at least 1/3 octave, 1/6 octave preferred.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks much in advance!

Regards,
Justin

Hi Justin,

This is a good idea - I do have filters for the 1/3 octaves so it is possible to implement, although I'm not sure how to deal with the extra information that would need to be displayed in the table.

Anyone else supporting this feature?

Julian

Hey, thanks for the quick replies Julian. It's good to know that you listen to user requests.

What is your typical release schedule like? Annually? Bi-annually? Whenever you get to it? Lol.

No hurry, I am just curious. I'm in the process of upgrading my phone to one that uses USB-C in hopes that I can connect it to a USB preamp. We have a nice test mic at work that I would like to try, but I don't think my current phone will support it yet.

I'll post some graphs from my current readings in another thread.

Anyway, thanks again!

Hi Justin,

There is no formal release schedule - it's a matter of when I get time to work on it :-)

That's what I figured, lol.

Thanks again for listening to my request.

I'll patiently be waiting for the next update.

I find it interesting that there isn't really any software out there that I have found that breaks down Leq by octave or division of the octave. It's seems like it is only a broadband averaged single reading.

Anyway, thanks again!

Hey Julian!

I'm getting ready to start doing some readings again and was curious if you were successful at adding the 1/3rd octave filters to the leq option.

Thanks again for the great app!

Hi Justin,

I'm afraid not :-( I really need to get on that for the next release.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is there a rough estimate on when the next release would be available?

Not trying to rush you or anything.  I'm just wanting to plan my testing.   If it's going to be a few weeks, I can schedule around that.   If it'll probably be longer down the road, I can work with the current build.

I appreciate your efforts!
