I also use the blue snowball for audio recording at present. I was wondering, do you find the recordings to be low at times even when the gain is turned up all the way? I'm thinking of upgrading to the blue yeti or even the blue yeti pro.

If you don't mind, can you talk a little bit about how you got into this, and are there any things in particular you like recording in nature?
Thanks.

I was a Southern Gospel DJ at a station in Pennsylvania back in the 80's back in the days of vinyl & carts. This was also when you needed a FCC license to be a "Broadcaster/Board Operator" Our station used a Gates 8 channel sound board. I have a 16 channel Alesis multimix with 100 effects now that fits on my bookshelf. The Gates 8 channel took up half the studio back then.
One morning I walked in and found out that our station which was owned by a company in Maryland had sold us to another company in Maryland and we changed formats to Contemporary Christian which came along with new station letters, new management, & eventually a new sound board.
I moved out of the area and quit the station and the broadcasting business about a week before they went CD and got the new board. I heard that in order to make room for the new equipment in the small station they had to make the announcer stand while he did his thing.
Later I did an internet show for ACB but it wasn't the same as flesh & blood radio. With today's technology it seems anyone with an internet connection is calling themselves a DJ and playing MP3's on an internet station. That's not to say everyone who is on an internet station is doing it poorly just that the term DJ has been devalued by the cacophony of internet radio stations and internet DJ's out there.
I admire anyone who is willing to work to acquire good audio editing skills either for production work or for broadcasting.
I have Goldwave but haven't had the time to get to know it yet. I bought it in March when I had a total vision loss which I'm hoping is temporary. I am usually a low partial and use Jaws & Magic on the computer. Mostly I use Adobe Audition 3 which is what I'm using again now with some difficulty because my Magic is set at 18 magnification. I'm waiting for Adobe to release a 64 bit version of Audition but I don't think they have released it yet.
I do miss the radio, and I love audio production but would never go on the internet as it stands now. I might consider a flesh & blood station again although it's been 26 years since I was on the air with a flesh & blood station.

i'm joseph from the uk. i am an amateur singer, musician. i am using sonar and a midi keyboard controller to record my instrumentals then i put my vocal on top.
i am impressed with gb accessibility on the mac but i hope to be more confident to switch to gb completely.
best
but the regular yeti has the mute switch and the 4 settings as well. The thing that sets the pro apart tis the 24 bit rate and the ability to use analog with the xlr connection.

No I haven't Besides the relatively low gain, I haven't had any issues, Do you encounter this with all computers you hook the snowball up to? It might be something to do with the USB your using.

I haven't had this happen to me once. I've used the snowball on a Dell XPS m1330 running vista, a 2008 Mac Mini running Leopard and Snow leopard, as well as a mid 2010 macbook pro running Lion and SL. Have you tried using another USB cable?
