Hi all,

Pretty sure we all know one another, but I just wanted to say thanks for joining up, and I hope we can build this into a quality resource for audio enthusiasts.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but I just want to reiterate the single rule we have in place; which is to not promote your production business on list.
I'd simply like to keep this free of people who wish to drum-up sales or followers.

Now, as for me, I am more of an editor/ mixer than a producer.
I relied upon Sound Forge in my Windows days, and also used Goldwave, but found the latter unstable and limiting for my particular needs.
I worked for Clear Channel radio for nearly 3-years, several years ago, and got my first introduction to mixing as part of my work.  Although I don't miss the job, I loved what I did.  So, it remained a hobby.

I now like using Sound Studio 4 on the Mac, and promised myself to learn Garageband sometime soon.
My first dip was rather overwhelming, so I've put it off.

Thanks again.

Hey

Alberto, For basic audio editing and recording, you might want to try audacity for windows. Its pretty accessible, and there are a lot of key commands to help you along. Plus, its free.

They don't make SF anymore, but you might find an old copy on eBay.  That program was firkin' great.  Highly accessible, and very advanced features.

Goldwave is about $50, and depending on your PC's sound card, it offers good features.  Great for editing, not so great for producing at all.
