After a long hiatus, I now have a new (Hi Power) battery charger and
balancing system. After the first charger went wrong - probably due to
me re-configuring it to work with 98 cells - I had to order another.
The good part was that I got Hi Power's cell mounted balancing
circuitry. This means no spaghetti cabling to the cells back to the
charger.

In the meantime (took me four months to get the charger, two of which
were my fault), I've rebuilt the engine bay, with a new, more precise
and zinc-coated engine mount. It sits about 40mm lower, so half shafts
are much better geometry - almost perpendicular to the diff.

Last but not least, battery boxes are now ready to go UNDER the car,
instead of sitting on deck in the back. This means new wiring. Still
to be done.

Well, not quite - also now have my instruments for the final version
of the panel. Consists of a custom speedo, and hi-voltage (300V)
voltmeter and an +/- 150A ammeter. Gave up on the idea of the Link 10
- too fussy to be of real use in my opinion. Plus it got fried (well,
the display did).

Batteries now provisionally in their boxes...
