Hi folks,
Been churning away in the back, getting ducks in rows for this thing.
Planning an clasic installfest in Manukau on about a fortnight:
* got a bunch of machines (laptops) to set up that'll be used (& available for use) in STEM workshops
* have old PC's locals can pull apart, to learn how it ticks & take away what they build
* folks are welcome to cannibalize said machines for parts for their own home PC's
* folks/public can bring in their machines for a touch of TLC
* hoping to foster a local LUG of some description, where users help one-another
* Linux is the bias, but FLOSS software will be available for, say, windows users - LibreOffice, minetest, etc
* Busy (re)build a PXE box to make installation a bit more snappy (this is turning out to be a little tricky; I'm a bit rusty here)
* Demo of funky tech, like a MAME games on RPi, etc
Refreshments to be provided to volunteers, so if you have any special requirement/allergies, please ping me
If anyone wants to participate and/or feel they have something to contribute, please reach out to me.
Cheers
- Jaco
