Hi everyone :-)
Is it OK to ask for ad-hoc/contract support here?

Yes, should be fine.

Are you looking for someone to help you solve a specific problem, or to pay someone to come and help solve it for you?

Fine with me. I'd suggest to write a brief summary of what it is you
need and ask those interested in helping you to contact you off list.

cheers,
Jan

AUP is here:

http://auckland.linux.net.nz/aup.html

Basically fits in-line with commercial content postings.
Keep it light and you'll be fine!

OK - thanks everyone for your advice and help :-)
In a nutshell:
We are a small company in the e-learning / educational technology sector.
We run Linux servers (Ubuntu) for hosting clients sites.
These are usually on Amazon AWS, but a small number are hosted internally by the clients.
I'd like to connect with someone who wants to earn a few $'s for some remote ad-hoc support.
A couple of example things we have at the moment that need addressing are:
1. Setting up some cron jobs for executing scripts (CLI ssh access via VPN only)
2. Updating SSL certificates
3. Monitoring the load on severs - to understand performance issues
As suggested by others here, if you are interested in this sort of work please drop me an email :-)
Experience with Linux is an obvious must, familiarity with AWS EC2's would be a real bonus.
Thanks !
Stu

Hi Stuart - this topic is really old - did anyone reply?  Drop me a note at d...@ddmr.co.nz if you're still looking for support....
Regards,  Duncan
