Matariki Jukai

On Sunday 29 June our mid-winter Jukai (Receiving-the-Precepts) Ceremony will be held at the Centre.
 

The Zendo will be open for informal zazen from 4 p.m. The ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. with chanting and offerings to Sensei, followed by recitation of the Repentance Gatha (verse), and the receiving of the Sixteen Precepts: the Three Treasures, the Three General Resolutions and the Ten Cardinal Precepts. Following the Ceremony there will be a Chinese vegetarian mid-winter feast at De One Restaurant in Newmarket, to which partners and spouses are warmly invited. Please make your reservations for the meal online (see below for link). The money for the meal, $25 a head, will be collected on the night.

If you plan to attend the dinner portion of the festivities, RSVP by 7:00 p.m. Tuesday 24 June. Let us know by following this link and adding your name. If you're bringing a friend or spouse, please enter their name in a separate line so it's easier for us to get a final count. Don't forget to hit the "save" button after entering each name.
