Earth Day

Since 1970 Earth Day has been celebrated in late April as a way of raising awareness of the preciousness of our home planet. Our celebration of Earth Day is tomorrow, Friday 25 April, at 3:30 p.m.  We will do a special extended chanting service called a Ceremony of Aid which includes 108 recitations of the Ten-Verse Kannon Sutra, the Buddha of Healing Mantra, other chants, prostrations, and an optional monetary offering that will be passed on to 350.org. All are welcome to attend.  As sesshin will be going on, arrive shortly before 3:30, put on a robe if you wish, and wait for the drum to play before entering the zendo.
