Hi Vien,

I know it is not easy at all for you to learn English now that you are in a Chinese speaking environment, but with your basic knowledge of English acquired in Vietnam, you can keep on learning it by yourself. Like most Vietnamese learners, making mistakes is something so scary to you. Believe me, it is a matter of course when one is learning a new language. Learning from mistakes help us improve our knowledge.

The following is your answer which has been revised in vocabulary and grammar.

Learning English is a difficult thing for me. I know the only way to improve it is to practice it on a day-to-day basis but I am not confident and do not have opportunities to practice it. I find that writing skill is the hardest one in English but I don’t have enough confidence to write anything just because I am scared of making some grammatical mistakes even a simple one. Another reason is it’s hard for me to manage my ideas just as I make everything become more complicated.

Chủ đề: Step-By-Step IELTS Writing

Hello students,

Realizing that most students have problems with IELTS writing, I came up with the idea that each day you should spend just a couple of minutes to write something. You don't need to write a lot, but make sure when you have an idea, you know how to write it down without any hesitation.

As this email is sent to many people, most of whom are learning IELTS, feel free to reply to all with your answer so that other people can benefit. I would like to call this email an open forum for everyone who wishes to practise their English.

The first question is:

What do you think is the most difficult English skill?

Best regards.

Hi Linh,
What I like about your answer is that you have tried to use complex structures and academic vocabulary, which is essential in IELTS writing and speaking. I simply corrected a few errors from your answer as follows.

English has become a compulsory subject in school syllabuses in almost every school in much of our country. However, how to master it has never been an easy question to answer. I have been learning English for a long period of time and found that my listening skill has always been my great concern in learning the language. For instance, I can hardly comprehend the whole message from the radio or CDs. Sometimes, when I sit for a listening test, all I do is not to understand what is playing from the CD player but to guess the answers from the context. The worst is that my future job will involve contacting foreigners on a daily basis and I am aware that poor listening skill will be likely to prevent me from going farther in my career path. In a nutshell, listening skill is the first thing on the list that I have to improve no matter how hard it is.

The worst is that, my future job will involve in contacting foreigners everyday and the less in listening skill will be a barrier to my communication, and farther to my promotion.
To put it in a nutshell, listening is the first I have to overcome, no matter how hard it is.
