Meetups in Melbourne

I noticed their was a AWS Meetup in 2010. Are there any cloud related
meetups planned for 2011.

I was hoping to try and organise something sooner, but been a little flat out with work stuff.
Things are a little more under control now though, so I'm keen for a Feb meeting if others are.

I'm happy to put my name down for a few talks at some point.
- Intro to EC2, ELB, Auto Scaling.
- Intro to Chef (at least what I've figured out of it so far).

I'll probably also have to play with the new SES stuff in the coming weeks, so could put my name down for that too.

Anyone else wanting to talk / provide a venue?

+1 Especially if we have a wider cloud focus.

I would love to hear a talk on Chef - and also on Puppet too if anyone
is keen (Nothing like a good showdown!)

We can provide the venue here at SCT again.

Sadly, I don't know too much on the Puppet side - anybody out there?
I know Ben Hoskings (the guy behind Babushka.me) is Melbourne based, so could be good to get him along for it as well if he's willing.

I'd be interested in another meetup.

I've not been doing a lot of cloud stuff lately (besides discovering the hard way that micro instances have no swap by default!).

I recently got Xen virtualisation working on the latest debian testing. KTHXBYE VMware! Looking forward to seeing what's in the next release of OpenStack Compute.

Hi Simone,

Openhub (http://www.jtribe.com.au/?p=219) have said that we can use their venue for the meetup on Wed 30 March. They have a projector etc as well.

It's in the Melbourne CBD (Collins St), so it should be pretty easy for people to get to.
