3D Software

I ran across a YouTube video which led me to this.

Supposed to allow 3D scanning with just a web cam. I downloaded a 3DS model but wasn't impressed.

Thoughts?

I have known about another software package for some time... it works very well... the total package is a bit pricey... but I guess you get what you pay for.

I played around with a 3D scanner a while back - built this from Lego in
about an hour:

A bunch of guys took my software and improved it:

http://scandraid.sourceforge.net/

There are serious limitations to this approach - but when it works, it
works well.
