Making Use of Recoton 900MHz Wireless Speakers

I have a set of Recoton 1682 K965 wireless speakers that I want to use but I don't have the transmitter.  Googling indicates these operate at 900MHz.  I am assuming that I can't buy a generic 900MHz transmitter from Radio Shack and expect that work to can I?  I imagine that Recoton uses some protocol/encoding that is specific to their products.

Actually, it's unlikely that they are using any sort of fancy
encoding. More likely they are using the same sort of signal used by
900MHz cordless phones.
