Published a Java skeleton project starter kit to GitHub

A healthy set of students have been working with Java for the coding problems.
I've been really apprehensive to set you guys up with Maven. I remember the
first time I showed Maven to Michael, it was kind of a head-ache, even though
we did get him set up pretty well.

At work, I'm doing some conversion work on our build system from Maven to
Gradle. Gradle really does resolve most of my frustrations with Maven, and I
think it's much better for students.

So I put up a Gradle skeleton project on GitHub [1]. Have at it. The README
file should have everything you need to get started. If it doesn't, let me
know, and we can work on tweaking the project.
