Hi everyone,

I've allowed myself to get busy, and it's not exactly one week before the
tentatively scheduled code review. I've done this for a while, and my gut
instinct is that things don't seem in place yet:

- I'm not sure we have confirmation on the room.

- I'm not sure if we're reached everyone we need to to send out emails.

- I still need to sit down and hammer out a flier.

I'm thinking about pushing it out a week. Does this make sense? Lane,
Michael, everyone, what do you think?

This pushes the event from Jan 24 to Jan 31.

Despite the 3-4 business days they claim to get word back on room reservations, I haven't gotten word back. I wish I could say that they might be overwhelmed with the new semester, but in my experience, it's typical to wait at least a week (I put it in last Monday).

I've begun contacting other student orgs and have heard tentative agreement to giving cross-promotion from a few student orgs. However, I have not heard from most or the big ones (i.e., ACM).

This sounds like it's for the best. Once this change is confirmed, I'll put in a new room request ASAP.

Cheers,
Lane

I'm thinking Wednesday, February 1, is the right date to push to. UTACM moved
their weekly meeting for that week to Tuesday, so we'd dodge a conflict with
Feb. 1.

I talked to Lane Smith face-to-face about this, and he seems to be on-board.

With a February 1 date, we should have plenty of time, but now is the right
time for first contact for the semester, just to remind the other organizations
that we're here and still active. I think the emails are important because
otherwise all we have for publicity are the fliers (which I'm working on).

Lane, Michael, let us know when you have the room reserved for February 1. ENS
is a fine building for this (since that's the main building now for both CS and
EE). SAC is kind of a runner up, I guess.

Also, I'm ramping up some activities in Agile Austin, which puts a lot of
stress on my Tuesdays. For the regular meetup, what do people's Thursdays look
like? Were we meeting on Thursdays before? Was there a conflict that's still
in play? It's a good day for me now.

For now, the next ASM activity is the February 1 date. Then we have to figure
out what to do for the bi-weekly meeting.

Thanks everyone for pitching in,
Sukant

Wed. Feb. 1 is good for me.

+1 for moving meet ups from Tuesday. Thursday is generally bad for me - I have a lecture 6-9PM.

Monday/Wednesday will usually be the days I'm most available. Kinda sucks, we can talk further about moving meet ups in the future.

It sounds like Wednesdays are going to work best for most people. We'll conflict with ACM's weekly meetings, but hopefully people can alternate their attendance between ACM and ASM since ours is biweekly (and definitely the better of the two organizations ;)

Any other voices want to give their input? I'll go ahead and request a room for Feb 1st.

Cheers,
Lane
