Hi everyone,

I'm interested in the student perspective here. Michael and Lane are seeking
reservations in both SAC and ENS for our next event on campus (slated for
Tuesday, October 25). I feel both reservations will probably go through, and
we'll just cancel one of them.

ENS is very close to the buildings a typical CS/EE/Math student might go to,
but has bolted down chairs, which is less ideal for the open forum format.

SAC has much better facilities (no bolted down seating), but is just a short
walk from the engineering side of campus to central campus (right next to
Gregory). Also, SAC is a new building, and I don't know how well students are
acclimated to where it's at. Previous attendance at events at the SAC were
thin, but with all the factors involved, we were never sure why.

Students, what are your thoughts? We're still learning what works in light of
loosing the best room ever (TAY 3.128) with Taylor Hall's demolition.

I was thinking ENS would be good because it's extremely convenient location wise. But, given the setup we want SAC just might work a lot better with moveable furniture. Plus, the SAC has lots of cool technology, and has a "new" feel.

I agree with Michaels sentiments wrt SAC. See my other email regarding the arrangements that we have available to us for the SAC.

Cheers,

I think SAC would be better for this.  The only down side of SAC was the internet deadzone that it "offers".

I'm with Jeremy on SAC being better by most measures. I'm just worried that
it's not a good option with this short notice, given limited availability.

Lane, I saw your other post about hearing back by Tuesday. Which room was that
for? Still for Tuesday, Oct. 25, right?

Sukant, in a pinch, you can ask Adam for facilities at Rackspace. It
would have to be a pretty tight pinch though, considering that we're
at 290 & 183 (for now).

Sukant (and all),

I was counting 3 school days from Michael's request for a room in ENS on Tuesday, October 25th, which Michael made at the end of last week. Everything is in order; no date or time changes were made.

Sounds like a good event. I'm impressed with the continued drive within this group. Keep it up.
