Hi,

I hope you are as excited about the Hands on GDAL meetup as I am. GDAL is a critical and powerful component for FOSS GIS computing. 

Please bring a laptop, preferably with a shell client that can SSH into an Ubuntu server pre-installed. Mobaxterm is a solid choice for Windows, I believe you can do this natively in OS X, and there are also apps for tablets. This will a lead by example demonstration with a heavy focus on hands on scripting. 

We will focus mostly on the GDAL Utilities (http://www.gdal.org/gdal_utilities.html) to quickly give you some practical experience with minor discussion of more broad GDAL usage.
