Now taking suggestions for location!
Lots of interesting things to talk about this time...
MS open sourcing MS-DOS 1.1 & 2.0, Windows 1.1a, and Word 1.0
Oculus Rift sells out to Facebook, causing gnashing of teeth and wailing in the tech and game communities. Notch terminates the "Minecrift" deal. Carmack (Oculus' CTO) says nothing will change to the gufaw of most in the community. On the bright side, imagine FarmvilleVR!
AWS announces "WorkSpaces" virtual desktop environments, as well as a completely re-done CloudSearch infrastructure and API
Prominent tech reformer and Github employee leaves under duress and exposes the dirty underbelly of Github's management style. Is Github officially evil now?
Windows XP extended support officially ends in April. Is the end of the world nigh? IE8+XP support ends as well, but unfortunately IE8 shipped with Windows7, so IE8 will, sadly, still be with us for quite some time to come.
Sincerely,
Chad
