Hi everyone!
Hope you're enjoying the snow! Hopefully it won't prevent us from being at church tomorrow, since the children's choir is supposed to sing at ATUMC. Remember today that hot chocolate is a must.
Our next youth group meeting will be a week from tomorrow, Sunday, February 7. We'll meet at our usual time and place, 5:30 to 7:00 upstairs at Asbury Temple. This week we'll be talking about prayer, and be prepared for surprises--we're going to learn about creative ways to communicate with God that you may or may not have realized can be prayer. Come have some fun learning how to talk to the big guy upstairs.
Also, we are looking at doing a spring retreat, hopefully in conjunction with the youth at Reconciliation UMC. The weekend I was looking at is April 9 to 11. I realize that's at the end of Durham Public Schools' spring break, so this is where I need your input--will people be around that weekend? I figure it being at the end of the break makes it either the perfect time for a retreat or a bad time if family vacations are planned. Let me know ASAP so we can either start making plans for that weekend or looking for another date.
So hopefully I'll see most of you tomorrow at church and the rest of you on Feb. 7. Get back to me on the retreat idea--I think we could have a really great time, I just want to make sure we plan it when as many people as possible can be there. We'll also be taking your thoughts on what you might like to do on a retreat and where you'd like it to be held--we could do something as simple as a lock-in at a site in Durham or see about finding a retreat center to go to, depending on the cost. Ideas are certainly welcome.
Enjoy the snow, and be safe!
In Christ,
Sarah
