Hello everyone!
Hope your week is going well. This Sunday (December 20) is the 4th Sunday in Advent, which means that Christmas is almost here and 2009 is almost over! Sunday morning worship at Asbury Temple is going to be a special service because the children and youth will be involved. Come to the service to help light the Advent wreath (and to hear me preach)! It's going to be a great way to prepare our hearts and minds for next Friday.
Also, this Sunday will be
the last youth group meeting of 2009! We're going to celebrate the year with a special
Christmas party, so we'll have a short program at our normal time and then enjoy some games and general holiday fun. We'll meet
from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at
The Reality Center (916 Lamond Avenue, behind Durham School of the Arts). Please note that
we are NOT meeting at Asbury Temple this week! The folks at Emmaus Way have generously offered for us to use their space, which includes a game room that will help make the evening lots of fun. I'll provide pizza, so
bring a side dish, snack, or dessert to share. Everyone is invited--family, friends, neighbors, church members, everyone--so bring someone along! If you're a Facebook user, I created an event so you can easily invite friend if you like.
Looking ahead to 2010, mark down our first meeting of the new year for Sunday, January 17. More information will be coming soon about what we have planned for the spring semester. Hope to see you all Sunday, and if you're traveling this weekend, be safe!
In Christ,
Sarah
