events this weekend!

Hi everyone!
I wanted to send an email letting you all know about some cool events going on this weekend that some of you might like to attend. Let me know ASAP if you're interested in going to any of them. Here goes:
Tomorrow, Friday, February 26, Gary and I are performing at a very special Worship Music Night at Amazingtone Music in Raleigh. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. in open-mic style--so if you want to sing a song or play something, you just sign up when you get there and people get to share worship music. At 8:30 p.m., Gary and I will play a set of original music and some favorite praise songs. It's a really neat venue, though it's a little far from Durham, but I wanted to let people know it was happening because it's a great opportunity to share and fellowship.
On Saturday, February 27, folks will be gathering at ATUMC to pack relief kits for Haiti. This will begin after the meeting with Reconciliation UMC, which is scheduled to wind up around 1:00 p.m. I unfortunately will not be able to be there, but it's a great volunteer opportunity, so check it out.
Finally, on Sunday, February 28, the Center for Race Relations at Duke is sponsoring the "Me, Too Monologues." This is a free show featuring a series of monologues written be members of the Duke community--they've actually asked to use a poem I submitted last year. They address issues of race, culture and ethnicity in real, honest (and sometimes even funny) ways. The show is on Duke's East Campus and starts at 7:30 p.m. If you'd like to attend, let me know, because I think this could be a great event.
Thanks for bearing with me on a long email! I hope some of you will consider being a part of at least one of these events, and do let me know if you can. Our next youth group meeting will be on Sunday, March 7, so I'll see you all then (and hopefully before)!
