Who’s the Socialist Now, Don?
by Lyn Ekedahl
Who’s the socialist now, Don? Who’s the socialist now?
I guess that would be you, Don. Step up and take a bow!
When the means of production are owned by the state,
It’s a socialist system that you are creating.
Socialism is generous, diverse goals embraced!
When Democratic in nature, it’s in fairness encased.
Its purpose equality, fair distribution—
Replace robber barons with state institutions.
But, with power and greed, the goal is reversed.
When Nationalistic, the end game’s perverse.
To the state now belong the great engines of growth.
To the king this brings power and wealth. Trump loves both!
And the Donald sure wants it; he thirsts for control.
Equity ownership? Just part of his goal.
Shares of Nvidia, Intel, and Nippon—
A start for the businesses Don wants a grip on.
He increases his efforts—derail and disrupt—
To enhance his own empire in manner corrupt!
For the Don is at heart a con man and a crook.
And this con is The Greatest, the Best in the Book!
