No one, regardless of political party, regardless of whether they are conservative or liberal, deserves to be president when they speak this way. How could you ever justify speaking this way about any group of Americans?
An excerpt from the New York Times today:
"President Trump used a public cabinet meeting to call Somali immigrants “garbage,” saying that they did not belong in the United States. Even for a president who has frequently made derogatory comments about immigrants, the rant against Somalis was an alarming use of vulgarity from the White House against an entire community. The tirade came as Immigration and Customs Enforcement was planning an operation targeting Somali migrants in Minnesota."
I am sad for my country today- that we could have a president so ill informed and so willing to divide, separate and smear any group is so far beneath the dignity of the high office he holds. Steve Duprey
My response.
Trump is missing the humanity gene he has no understanding of love empathy compassion forgiveness -we elected a soulless human being who delights in devaluing others…, what is shocking is not his amoral cruel behavior it is the fact that nearly 40% of Americans still admire him
AS Ron Abramson notes:
All this, which leads to the additional observation that the entire movement seems to have no capacity for joy … all that “winning,” but zero indicia of happiness.
