Tilting at Windmills by Lyn Ekedahl
Our Donald is tilting at windmills,
Not the usual goal of the sane,
Nor the usual pastime of people
Who are using their god-given brains.
But Donald is not ruled by reason
Nor by morals nor ethics nor thought.
Donald’s ruled by his prefrontal cortex,
And the vengeance he’d like to see wrought.
Don’s policy views are created
By passions, quite base, not quixotic.
They emerge out of some kind of impulse
That’s basic and mean and robotic.
In this case, his scunner ‘gainst windmills
Is based on self-interest—not new.
Donald just thinks the damned windmills
Will ruin his properties’ views.
The Donald is also enraged that
His favorite fossil—King Coal
May be left in the ground, sadly buried,
While windmills take over its role.
Must the rest of us regular people
Wait for all of the MAGANs to see
That their Donald, who’s tilting at windmills,
Is driven by sheer lunacy?

the refusal to accredit the
AFL-CIO — the largest and most representative labor movement in the U.S. — to the International Labor Conference in June where international labor standards are set once a year together with governments and employers.
Liv Tørres said: “There is no mercy in what is happening now. This is a real fight about democracy, about labor rights. But it’s also a fight about dignity, about respect, and how to treat people.”
