No Adult in the Room by Lyn Ekedahl
In the room where it happens there’s no stalwart adult,
Not one decent person to challenge Don’s cult.
We knew that King Donald was wearing no clothes.
That his minions are naked now everyone knows.
While he once seemed a lightweight, the Don’s little Marco
Has created the fiction of “terrorist narcos.”
He loves bombing the boats and the poor fellows who
May be carrying hashish, perhaps some fish too.
And for evil personified, take a look at Steve Miller,
Who loves to be labeled a monster, a killer.
He’s all about power and terror and might.
He wants everyone to regard him with fright!
There’s Hegseth, pathetic, and sick Kristi Noem,
Deserving of labels too obscene for this poem.
To cover ICE murder, they distort and they lie.
They’ll continue to gaslight as more people die.
Don has so many targets, it’s hard to keep track.
He’s always in search of more prey to attack.
Yesterday was Maduro; could be Cuba tomorrow.
Wherever he looks, he’s bound to spawn sorrow.
He’d love to seize Canada, Greenland, and more.
Keeping track of his conquests will soon be a bore.
There’s no one to block him-stop him dead in his tracks.
Just the Donald himself—with the morals he lacks!

opening thoughts from Harold Meyerson: There are at least two things that can stop a government police force that’s violently out of control. One occurs when it performs its brutality out in the open, where it can be recorded. The second comes when it attacks people with whom the public can empathize.
In Minneapolis last week, ICE did both.
