At the QS Conference Hackathon I started writing a Chrome Extension
that will log what web pages you visit and for how long. I've been
hacking on it off and on since then, and while it's nowhere near
anything I'd call a release, I thought I'd start to let people know it
exists.

There's still no UI to speak of, and installation requires a few
technical steps. See the readme on Github for details.

The biggest TODOs are:

* some sort of reporting UI -- probably a web page on localhost
* pause tracking when user goes idle for, say, 5 minutes

Hello, I am a random person from the internet who totally wasn't at
the conference but have an interest & stake in this topic and joined
the group anyway.

1) You rock.
2) See also: ClickHint - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fjlfhmodommidkcahnnjohgpnkemocna
& RescueTime - https://www.rescuetime.com

ClickHint is functional but who knows where the developers went or if
they've been eaten by aliens or what.
RescueTime rocks in a whole lot of ways but is a commercial product
that may not always offer free accounts (although their basic account
& their thoughtful inclusion of the ability to export raw data in CSV
form means that this isn't a barrier at the moment). Also, why stop at
just one browser & just internet browsing time when there's a tool
that will track nearly every interaction on your computer @ a pretty
granular level & is very flexible, customizable, & will let you tell
it to stop sometimes too.

That being said, OpenSource is awesome & remains a certain level of
useful even if you, too, get eaten by aliens. Or work commitments
(more likely to happen, even if aliens are more fanciful & interesting
at the abstract level).
