These adorable muggulu have become a part of our culture. Every wife wakes up early in the morning cleans her courtyard and decorates them with beautiful muggulu. The yard is sprinkled with 'kallapi' and with white muggu powder or rice flour, most beautiful muggulu are drawn, to such house graces Goddess Lakshmi. Sankranti is especially noted as a festival of muggulu. With the advent of Dhanur masam (month of Dhanur) every street is covered with beautifully decorated with colourful muggulu. Every courtyard is adored with vibrant muggulu. These are also called kolam or rangoli.
