This article explains the data flow, data collection, and how to stop gathering data for Endpoint analytics. For more information on our data handling policies, see Intune's Data storage and processing and the Microsoft Trust Center.
Endpoint analytics is available in all Intune locations in global Azure. Endpoint analytics respects the storage location elections made by the administrator for customer data. The following illustration shows how required functional data flows from individual devices through our data services, transient storage, and to your tenant.
Data reduction profiles can be specified in thestoragetype:datareductionprofile extra spec. Available options are None,Compression, and Deduplication. Note that not all options are available onevery Storage Center.
Data Transfer files are pushed to Ad Manager cloud storage buckets on an hourly basis. We advise polling at regular intervals to check for updates. The majority of the data is delivered and available between 5 and 15 hours after the recorded hour, though some delayed events can take up to 8 days after the event occurred. Ad Manager does not deliver data transfer information to third-party servers.
The task of collecting the support data is performed by a background CLI task called the record collector. The administrator configures the SDC via the CLI with the commands to be executed on a periodic basis. The record collector always runs in the background and checks if there are records to be collected.
Technical Assistance Center (TAC) personnel and local administrators can review the SDRs on-line or by transferring them off the system. They may also wish to investigate the collector state information. The figure below shows system tasks that contain state and counter information. Arrows between tasks and processes represent messenger requests and indicate the predominant flow of data.
The Exec Mode show support collection command displays useful information about the Support Data Collector. The output includes information about when the collector last ran, how long it took to run, when it is scheduled to run again, as well as the number of SDRs currently stored, where they are stored, and how much storage space is being used. Refer to Exec Mode Commands for more detail about this command.
Use the no support collection command to explicitly disable the collection of the SDRs. If no record section commands are defined, the support data collector mechanism is also effectively disabled.
Oracle Grid Infrastructure deployment now supports a global off-cluster Grid Infrastructure Management Repository (GIMR). This repository is a multitenant database with a pluggable database (PDB) for the GIMR of each cluster. The global GIMR runs in an Oracle Domain Services Cluster. A global GIMR frees the local cluster from dedicating storage in its disk groups for this data and permitting longer term historical data storage for diagnostic and performance analysis.
Starting with Oracle Grid Infrastructure 12c Release 2 (12.2), Oracle Direct NFS Client supports adding a dispatcher or I/O child infrastructure. For very large database deployments running Oracle Direct NFS Client, this feature facilitates scaling of sockets and TCP connections to multi-path and clustered NFS storage.
Databases that share storage with snapshots or with the base of the file system can become fragmented under active online transaction processing (OLTP) workloads. This fragmentation can cause the location of the data in the volume to be discontiguous for sequential scans. Oracle ACFS automatically defragments these files in the background.
Oracle ACFS supports accelerator metadata storage. This support enables many critical Oracle ACFS metadata structures, including extent metadata, storage bitmaps, volume logs, and some snapshot metadata to be placed on accelerator storage.
Oracle Database 12c introduces Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Express, a web management product built into Oracle Database without any need for special installation or management. Using Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Express, you can perform administrative tasks such as managing user security, and managing database memory and storage. You can also view performance and status information about your database.
Methodology for Addressing the Issue: The CPRA-funded data management and visualization effort supports hundreds of monitoring stations across coastal Louisiana. This system not only supports current data, but contains all historic CPRA stations, some of which date back approximately 20 years.
